Update: WE ARE IN POST-PRODUCTION!

IMG_2672After many weeks of planning and coordinating interviews, getting insurance for filming and actually recording three interviews across two countries we are finally in post-production!

We are just putting together a general assembly of each woman’s interviews in order to select the best points and form a coherent and amazing Documentary for all of you to enjoy!

Our team is working very hard to meet our deadline of April 25th, 2016. We can’t wait for everyone to see the final film!

Subject: Daudeth Alarcon

Screen Shot 2016-04-14 at 10.03.52 PMDaudeth Alarcon  is a hard working woman living in Mexico City. She is the Event coordinator of a famous pub in the city called Spartacus, along with many other locations. Each night over the weekend she hosts numerous song and dance shows that are performed to about 300 people. This positive experience has shaped her perspective about life.

Being 50 years old, Daudeth believes that life is all about family, smiling and sex. In this documentary Daudeth explains, energetically and spontaneously, her TransLadies experience and her philosophy about life.

Daudeth has a very positive outlook on life and wishes to inspire others to do the same, below are two quotes from her interview!

Subject: Shelagh May (and her wife Virginia)

She is married to Virginia May, whom she loves unconditionally. Shelagh transitioned later in life, while she was married to Virginia. Shelagh said that she didnt know if Virginia would accept the change, but she welcomed it with open arms.

Shelagh is a very spiritual person, she believes in Buddhism, Hinduism and Shamanism and those spiritual connections are popping up frequently to shape her philosophy of life. For this Documentary Shelagh brings in another perspective about how she perceives life now after her transition.

Subject: Nadya Ayala Jacobo

img_2683Nadya works in a Hospital in Mexico City. She has been experiencingmany misconceptions, bias and discriminations as many Latin‐American TransLadies do. She believes that life is based on love, family and ones personal pleasures. Nadya believes that life is simple and we need to live it with the way we want too, not by the expectations of others. Everyone should be proud of who they are despite different people’s opinions,

In this Documentary Nadya discusses her tribulations with her family, more specifically her mother, while she sought to transition at an early age. Even though she faced difficulties in her past, she still advocates that people be proud of who they are.
